We’re excited to share that earlier this year Dawn joined Tools for Humanity, having been acquired by the company, to build next generation finance into World App.

We started Dawn in 2023 with the belief that a new internet-native economy was emerging on top of blockchains. The world will embrace blockchains through mobile devices first; but we felt too many of the interfaces were built for a seasoned audience, with broken wallet connections and failing transactions too often the norm.

We built Dawn to solve this. Dawn shipped as a mobile focused self-custodial wallet, with a Safari extension and embedded AI agent in the app. Users quickly came to love the wallet, using it to power millions in transaction volume across the full spectrum of dapps.

Along the way, we met the Tools for Humanity team building World App. World was growing rapidly at 26M+ users and counting and represented a way for us to take our ideas to scale and address a global audience.

At Tools for Humanity, we’ve been focused on expanding the financial offerings available in World App, making sophisticated crypto powered financial tools truly accessible.

We want to extend our deep thanks to those who supported us from the very beginning. We raised a $2M funding round from Variant and Geometry, along with an incredible group of angels. We’re deeply thankful to Dawn’s design advisor, Chris Downer. As part of this transition, Dawn will be sunset in the coming weeks. We’ll be updating you with information about how you can transition your assets out of Dawn.
